Supervisors extend deadline to file suit on toxic site cleanup plan (Ojai Valley News)

“Ventura County Board of Supervisors announced Jan. 12 the signing of a legal “tolling agreement” that will extend a deadline to allow the filing of potential legal challenges to an agreement announced last year for a cleanup of the contaminated Santa Susana Field Lab in eastern Ventura County.

Previously, they had until Jan. 15 of this year to file suit challenging the plan detailed in the environmental impact report. “The tolling agreement clarifies and extends the deadline for the filing of potential lawsuits challenging the Programmatic Environmental Impact Report which was certified by the California Department of Toxic Substances Control in July 2023,” the board said in a statement. “This allows time for the assessment of the Cleanup Plans before lawsuits must be filed.””
